Our Story

Bushcraft Parties was set up in 2007 by Alexei Charkham, a bushcraft instructor and primary school teacher, who wanted to give children an opportunity to get outside, learn some new skills in a fun, safe way, and run amok. Alexei has since teamed up with some fantastic instructors, and together they have taught basic bushcraft skills to thousands of children all around the country, giving them a taster into ancient skills and a really good time!

We create outdoor adventure parties where children learn new skills, play active games, and explore nature in a fun and safe environment.

Where do you run your adventure parties?

We run parties across most areas of London and many parts of the South East. While we do not currently travel to Sussex, we regularly cover locations in Kent and nearby regions.

How much does a standard party cost?

Our standard price is £325 for up to 16 children. Prices may vary slightly depending on travel distance or special requests, but everything is confirmed before booking.

What age groups are your parties best for?

Our parties are generally designed for children aged 5 to 10. Activities can be adjusted to suit slightly younger or older children when needed.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If poor weather is predicted, we keep checking the forecast with you and decide as late as possible. If necessary, the party can be postponed or cancelled with your deposit refunded.

 

What clothing should the children wear?

Children should wear comfortable outdoor clothes and sturdy footwear. It is best if they wear something they do not mind getting a little dirty during activities.

This was our second Bushcraft party and we loved it. Kids are so entertained, the activities are perfectly suited, and Joe was a super instructor for our 8 year old boy and his friends. Highly recommend!!

We asked Bushcraft parties to organise an outdoor event for my son's 6th birthday. We couldn't be happier with how the party went. My son and his 18 friends had a fantastic time. They learnt alot plus had so much fun building shelters, doing a tug of war, toasting marshmallows, using a flint and steel and making bow and arrows. To see all their faces of enjoyment was amazing. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again. A special mention to Dan, our instructor for the day. He was absolutely amazing from start to finish!

Bushcraft Party for 9 year olds – Brilliant! We had a Bushcraft Party to celebrate our son and his best friends' 9th birthday. It was absolutely brilliant! Joetta put on fun activities for them to enjoy (tug of war, shelter building, archery, bug eating) and the boys all had an amazing time! It's a perfect party and you can so easily see how this would work for a whole raft of ages. Recommend wholeheartedly!
